I was humbled and ashamed as I recognized how arrogant and self-centered my life had become—revolving around my plans, my comfort, my priorities, and my success.
My thoughts immediately turned to Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus—fully human and fully God—knew what awaited Him: suffering, humiliation, abandonment, and death. Yet He prayed, “Abba (Papa), Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me… yet not what I will, but Your will be done.” Those four words have since become the heart cry of my prayers and life.
I had “Your Will Be Done” bracelets made as a reminder—for my family and myself—to seek and surrender to God’s will in every circumstance, whether we understand or not. I wear mine 24/7/365.
Each day begins with this simple but powerful prayer. As worries, distractions, and disappointments arise, I return to it again and again. It is a prayer that brings peace, calm, and hope—lifting the weight from my shoulders and placing it onto my Heavenly Father’s.
Not my will, but Your will be done.
What began as a routine procedure gone wrong has, by God’s will and purpose, led to thousands of bracelets being shared across the United States and around the world. They are worn by people like you and me - people in need of comfort, strength, courage, and hope. Every story is different, and some journeys are more painful and life-altering than others, but the invitation remains the same: to trust God’s will, even when we don’t understand it.
