what does 'your will be done' mean?

Sometimes life just doesn’t make sense.  Things don’t turn out the way we hoped or planned.  We face disappointment, loss, pain and uncertainty.  And in the midst of these struggles, we find ourselves asking why.

Why am I – or someone I love – sick with cancer?

Why is my family so broken and torn apart?

Why can’t I overcome my depression?
Why did I lose my job?

Why are my relationships so hurtful?

Why can’t I break free from my addiction?
Why do I feel so anxious, angry, afraid, or hopeless?

“Your will be done” isn’t just a line from a prayer that Jesus taught. It is the prayer Jesus Himself prayed when He was overwhelmed with emotional, mental, and physical pain, and ultimately death. In His darkest moment, He surrendered His own will and desires and prayed, “Father, I know you can do anything. Yet not my will, but Your will be done.

One of the hardest prayers we can ever pray is, “Lord, let Your will be done.”  It’s a prayer of surrender – one that doesn’t come naturally when answers are unclear, when the waiting feels endless, or when the future seems to be full of pain.

Yet within that surrender is a quiet strength.  The strength to trust that God sees what we cannot.  The strength to rest in His faithfulness when life feels unsettled.  And the strength to believe that His purposes are always higher and wiser than our own.

How the bracelets began?

This is my story.

I'm a husband and a dad of five that started passing out these bracelets 5 years ago. It wasn't because of a neat idea or that I had nothing better to do, it was because I sat in the hospital not knowing if I'd make it…

Hear their story

"You’ll never know what these bracelets meant to me or my grandparents and my family! It opened a door to celebrate the Savior of the World in the most beautiful, raw, vulnerable way as my family gathered, not once, but twice to sing worship songs and pray over my grandpa and his body/healing.

This planted and watered seeds within my own family that I know could grow, and the bracelets are just a small reminder that no matter what is on the other side of a biopsy, we know who will be glorified. In our weakness, He is made strong and we find peace in His will!"

Your story could be the one thing that changes someone's life. Every time a bracelet is given out, there’s a chance the person visiting this page needed to hear your story.

Tell us the moment in your life where you realized, despite the disappointment, that His will being done was the best thing possible.
